Electric vehicle (EV) applications require magnetic sensing technology with a broad dynamic sensing range and high sensitivity to accurately detect current levels ranging from 10 mA to 600 A. Selecting a single magnetic sensing technology that fulfills both requirements is challenging due to trade-offs in linearity, dynamic range, and integration complexity. A promising approach is to combine multiple magnetic sensing technologies to meet these demands while maintaining compactness and efficiency.

This work presents a design concept that integrates hybrid magnetic sensing components with Tiny AI—lightweight, low-power machine learning algorithms embedded on-chip. The goal is to explore how such embedded intelligence could support adaptive signal processing, dynamic calibration, and simplified system integration. While still under development, this approach aims to reduce external processing needs and enhance flexibility in sensor response.

The integration of hybrid sensing hardware and Tiny AI algorithms offers a potential path toward more adaptable, compact magnetic sensing solutions for EV current measurement. This design may help address key challenges in achieving wide-range current detection and contribute to the development of intelligent, semiconductor-based sensing platforms for next-generation electric vehicles.
